OmTrak Reporting Update: A Smarter Way to Access Project Data

OmTrak’s updated reporting experience improves navigation and project dashboards—without removing access to existing reports or data.

A Smarter Way to View Your Data: OmTrak’s Updated Reporting Experience

Coming Soon! We’re updating the reporting experience in OmTrak. This article outlines the upcoming changes, what’s staying the same, and how the updates are designed to make day-to-day use more intuitive for users.

This update introduces a modernised reporting interface, improved navigation, and a new project-level dashboard — without removing access to the information you already depend on.

Why the Reporting Experience is Being Updated

Over time, OmTrak’s reporting capabilities have grown alongside the platform itself. As modules such as Manuals, Site Works, and Asset Data have evolved, the way reports were accessed no longer reflected how users naturally think about their projects.

This update focuses on three key objectives:

  • Clarity: Make it easier to find the right report in the right context
  • Consistency: Align reports with the modules they belong to
  • Usability: Provide faster, more visual access to high-value insights

The result is a reporting experience that better supports project teams, asset owners, and operators.

What’s Changing (and What Isn’t)

1. The Legacy “Reports” Menu Has Been Retired

The standalone Reports menu has been removed.

This does not mean reports have been deleted.

All legacy reports have been:

  • Fully migrated into the new reporting framework
  • Retained with the same underlying data
  • Updated with a more modern and intuitive layout

Rather than living in a single generic list, reports will be located within the dashboard of the module they relate to, such as:

  • Manuals
  • Site Works
  • Other relevant project modules

This makes it easier to find reports based on what you’re working on, rather than needing to remember report names.

The information is still there. What’s changed is how you access it.

2. A Redesigned Project Overview Dashboard

When users log into a project, they’ll now see a clean, blank dashboard designed to be customised.

Key features include:

  • All reports are accessible from the project home page
  • Ability to pin up to six high-use reports per project
  • Pinned reports are typically visual or summary-level, such as charts or high-level overviews
  • More complex or detailed reports remain available, but are accessed via the full reports list

This allows each user or team to configure their dashboard around the information they use most often — without clutter.

3. Familiar Project Details, With Added Context

To minimise disruption:

  • Core project details remain in a familiar layout on the left-hand side
  • A new notes area has been introduced, allowing additional context or project-specific commentary to sit alongside reporting data

This ensures continuity for existing users while adding flexibility where it’s most useful.

4. Improved Navigation That “Just Makes Sense”

One of the most common challenges with reporting systems is not the data itself — but knowing where to find it.

Navigation has been restructured so that:

  • Reports are accessed within the module they relate to
  • Users can still view all available reports from within the project context
  • The structure aligns with how teams already think about manuals, site activities, and asset information, reducing the need to remember where reports “live” in the system

The goal is to reduce clicks, reduce confusion, and reduce reliance on training for everyday tasks.

What This Means for Existing Users

We understand that not everyone welcomes interface changes — especially when workflows are well established.

This update has been designed to:

  • Preserve access to all existing reporting data
  • Reduce cognitive load through clearer navigation
  • Improve efficiency for both occasional and power users

For users who rely on OmTrak to support structured handover, compliance, and operational readiness, this change better aligns reporting with real-world project workflows.

A Better Foundation for the Future

This reporting update isn’t just a visual refresh. It establishes a more scalable foundation for future enhancements — including richer dashboards, improved performance, and more flexible reporting options as the platform continues to evolve.

As always, feedback from our users plays a key role in how OmTrak develops. If you have questions about the new reporting experience or would like guidance on configuring your dashboards, our team is here to help.
